After a lengthy battle with a rare brain disease, Crystal came to recognize the healing power of nature. She is now utilizing her experiences and intersecting identities – Black, disabled, lesbian, backpacker to get historically excluded folks into the outdoors in love with Nature because she believes that Nature is the ultimate unifier and can bring about peace.

MOST VALUABLE PET

Without knowing if she is a cat, horse, deer, or dog, Carma enjoys taking her human for a walk every few days, except when the temperatures drop below 30°F.  She loves snacks, cuddles, and attention.  She also loves to sleep and veg on the couch.
